Help us build our farmers' collective resiliency amidst the climate crisis

Heavy, nonstop rains and very strong winds during the typhoon season have led to plant diseases such as blight, stunted or damaged crops, and failed harvests.

Our small farmers are at the frontlines of these climate impacts.

As extreme weather becomes the norm, their lives and livelihoods risk being destroyed by a crisis they did not contribute to.

With limited resources, they hardly have the means to adapt or survive while conditions intensify in our fast-warming planet.

Fund a Farmer (FaF) is a resiliency fund set up by Good Food Community to help small organic farmers improve their adaptive capacity, minimize the climate risks they face, and strengthen collective response.

FaF invests in resiliency projects and strategies that re-center small farmers, promote appropriate and community-led intermventions, support women’s economic empowerment, and promote farmer-eater solidarity guided by the Pamayanihan model.

Help us raise P1.2 million to kickstart the fund.

This year, the FaF resiliency fund will address the needs of the farmers of the Chico River Organic Producers Organization (CROPO) in Bauko, Mountain Province, for high-quality rain shelters. Right now they either have no crop shelters or only have makeshift ones made of low-quality plastic covers and thin wooden beams that cannot withstand the heavy downpour and strong winds.

More than the infrastructure, the fund will also support capacity building in collective crop programming and marketing, community seed banking, and the mobilization of food system partners for a more sustainable solution that addresses systemic issues that farmers face.

Through the Fund-a-Farmer Resiliency Fund, we can show our solidarity to our farmers and secure them from the risks they face from growing the food we eat.

Your donations can go a long way!

helps maintain the monthly mobilization costs for communication, partnership building and collective learning with CROPO.
funds efforts for protecting & developing crop diversity through discovery produce and market development.
develops workshops for seed banking, climate reslience, and business-planning.
builds a crop rain shelter for 1 out of the 25 farmer in CROPO, along with crop planning, finance, and market support.

We’re aiming for 1,200,000.00 to provide all 25 farmers with the materials and training they need.
