Talinum—love ‘em or leave ‘um? Bad pun aside, we hope you’re enjoying this week’s new veg highlight and aren’t discouraged by its sticky properties. Also known as Philippine spinach and talilong, talinum is a fairly common local green that loves growing in the wild and is too often taken for granted when it can be quite versatile in our raw and cooked food preparations. Its mild taste actually belies its high antioxidant properties and great potential for immunotherapy (Liang et al, 2011; Liao et al 2015). This is why when its available, we cannot get enough of talinum as our hearty green of choice for raw salads and fresh spring rolls, and for our local soups and stews such as sinigang or ginisang munggo. Also if you notice your talinum subscription staying fresh longer than most leafy greens, it is because talinum is actually a drought tolerant plant thanks to its high water content, making it great climate resilient food to grow at home as well! Talk about being a supergreen!

Delivery Info

Farmstand orders are available for delivery on Thursdays & Saturdays.

Cut-offs for orders are as follows:
Mondays 5pm for Thursdays
Fridays 5pm for Saturdays

Make sure to check on Sundays 10am & Thursdays 3pm when we update our Farmstand with a full list of available produce!

We deliver within Metro Manila and Rizal for a flat rate of P150. If you're also ordering a farmshare you may enjoy our farmshare delivery rate starting at P80, or top-up an existing delivery at no extra charge.
